Dr. Anil Matai did his MBBS in 1975 and his postgraduate (M.S., Ophthalmology) in 1985 from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. After completing his training, he joined Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital and became Honorary Consultant in 1986. At present he heads the Department of Ophthalmology in SDM Hospital.
Dr. Matai is the pioneer of excellent ophthalmology set-up in the hospital and established the Department of Ophthalmology in SDM Hospital. He has had a key role in further up gradation of the department over the last 30 years.
Dr. Matai, with more than 30 years of experience, has performed about 15000 cataract surgeries successfully. He is doing phacoemulsification, trabeculectomy, squint, globe repair and Keratoplasty for a long time. He was awarded Gold Medal for the best paper presented in Rajasthan Ophthalmic Society Conference. Dr. Anil Matai is one of the founders of Jaipur Ophthalmological Society (JOS). He has published papers and presented them at various national level conferences.
Dr. Anil Verma did his MBBS in 1985 and M.S. (Ophthalmology) in 1990 from S.M.S. Medical College. He took further training in Ophthalmology from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and one year fellowship in Vitreo-retinal disorder from Medical Research Foundation, Chennai in 1992. He has been providing services in SDMH since 2013.
Dr. Nalini Sen is a distinguished alumni of SMS Medical College, Jaipur (Gold Medal in Ophthalmology) with more than 20 years of experience in the field of Ophthalmology. She had also been subsequently trained for Phaco Surgery from R.P. Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi.
She specializes in topical Micro-Incision sutureless Phaco surgery for cataract and refractive LASEK laser surgery for spectacle removal.
She has been regularly doing simultaneous bilateral microincisional cataract surgery with injectable lens implantation using the only eye numbing drops and no injection given in the eye. She has experience in various types of lens implants such as – injectable multifocal and toric lenses for enhanced vision. She is amongst the first few to do LASIK and bladeless LASEK Refractive Laser surgery for removal of spectacles in Rajasthan. She also does Phakic Implantable contact lens surgery to high myopic patients not eligible for LASIK procedure. She operates Glaucoma and Congenital ptosis through quick single stab incision and pterygium by latest autograft technique. She also has the keen interest in medical retina and squint.
She has presented her work in American and European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, national and state conferences with acclaim and published in national journals. She has trained eye surgeons for Phaco Cataract Surgery and also been a guide to DNB Post Graduate students.
Dr. Bansal did his MBBS from S.N. Medical College, Jodhpur in 1997 and completed Postgraduate training from S.M.S. Medical College, Jaipur in 2007. He is a cataract and LASIK laser eye surgeon at Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital. Dr. Nitesh Bansal has performed more than 5000 cataract successful surgeries so far. Dr. Bansal specializes in Minimal invasive cataract surgery (MICS) under topical anesthesia (without any injection or pain, very useful for heart patients taking anticoagulant drugs) and Lasik Laser (for permanent removal of glasses and contact lenses which is useful in medical and sports fitness as well as cosmetic appearance).
He also does keratoplasty, trabeculectomy, pterygium excision with conjunctival autografting, horizontal squint, Globe rupture repair and green laser for retina on a regular basis. He is also having the special interest in glaucoma and medical retina.
Dr. Nitesh Bansal had done cornea observership from L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. Dr. Bansal has presented and published in various eye conferences of state and national level. He has also organized many eye camps and free eye surgeries for underprivileged and weaker sections of the society since 2008.
