Dr. K.K Singh is an astute, patient-centric Neurologist with vast clinical, teaching, research experience.
Dr. Karni Singh completed his medical training from AFMC, Pune and joined the Armed Forces. He pursued his interest in Neurology and completed his D.M. in Neurology from AIIMS, Delhi. He has vast experience in Neurology and General Medicine spanning more than three decades. He rapidly rose to the high rank of Lt. General in the Army Medical Corps of India, serving in Neurology centre in the Armed Forces.
Dr. Singh is the first neurologist in India to introduce Botox Therapy in Movement Disorder (started on the auspicious day of 15 August, 1990). He has also undertaken pioneering research in Stem Cell Therapy in Stroke. His devotion to teaching throughout his career is well known; he is a recognized Professor and examiner for M.D. (Medicine) and D.M. (Neurology).
Dr. Karni has several distinctions to his credit including neurologist to four Presidents of India. He was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal (1989), Sena Medal (2006), by the President of India for distinguished service to the Nation. He has also been awarded the Highest Service Award of India, Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2012.
He joined the Neurology Department at SDMH as senior consultant and has special interests in Movement Disorders and Botox Therapy in Movement Disorders, spasticity and refractory headaches.

Dr. Anoop Varma completed his medical training with honours at SMS Medical College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur in 1984. His postgraduate training and research spans a decade in premier institutions including Sree Chitra National Institute, Trivandrum; National Hospital, Queen Square, London; the Greater Manchester Neuroscience Centre; and the Regional Infectious Diseases Unit, North Manchester General Hospital. He was a permanent full time Consultant and Honorary Lecturer at the Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre, University of Manchester from 2001-2014. He has won numerous awards (9 gold medals, bursaries, fellowships, scholarships etc) including the prestigious PN Berry Scholarship for higher studies in the UK.
Dr. Varma has 30 years’ experience as a clinical and academic neurologist. His specialist experience (the majority in the UK) includes 24 years in cognitive & behavioral neurology; 18 years in the neurology of infection including HIV and 10 years running a specialist epilepsy service.
He is widely known for his work on dementias, having more than 50 publications on FTLD, AD and VaD; HIV associated neurology and autoimmune encephalitis. He has contributed book chapters and reviews on dementias and co-authored clinical guidelines on status epilepticus and investigating neuroinfections. He remains an honorary faculty of the Institute of Brain, Behaviour & Mental Health, University of Manchester, UK. Dr. Varma has been an invited and guest lecturer at the SGPGI, Lucknow, Universities of Manchester, Lancashire, Manchester Metropolitan, Liverpool etc.
Dr. Varma maintains a keen interest in clinical neurology as the foundation of modern neurosciences. His repertoire has evolved into the fields of subacute encephalopathies including autoimmune encephalitides and neurology of infection. He maintains his passion teaching, researching, reviewing and editing medical neurology.
Dr. Dinesh Sharma, M.D Medicine, DM Neurology.
Dr. Dinesh Sharma completed his MD medicine from S.M.S Medical College, Jaipur. He then did his DM neurology from GB pant Hospital, Delhi.
Dr. Dinesh Sharma is one of the first neurologists to establish neurology services at Jaipur. He has vast experience running the neurology department at Jaipur Hospital for the last 3 decades.
He comes to SDMH with vast experience and is rated as one of the finest clinicians in neurology.

Dr. Neeraj Bhutani has done his MBBS (1996) and M.D. General Medicine (1999) from SMS Medical College as a meritorious student. He did his doctorate (D.M.) in Neurology from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience (NIMHANS) Bangalore in 2003.
Subsequently, he worked in several reputed hospitals and presently he the Dept. of Neurology at SDMH.
His areas of interest are acute stroke care, headache, spinal pains and immune mediated neurological disorders. He has done research in cerebral venous thrombosis and demyelinating disorders of CNS. His other works include case series on adult hyperammonemia and another case series on hypokalemic periodic paralysis associated with dengue fever.
Dr. Bhutani has also written a chapter on refractory epilepsy in text book of tropical pediatric neurology. Dr. Bhutani was awarded gold medal for best research paper presented by scientist under the age of 40 in Rajasthan (1998). He has also conducted several CME programmes and delivered lectures on his areas of interest especially acute stroke, in many National and state Conferences.
Dr. Bhutani has conducted several public awareness programmes on stroke impressing upon need for early medical intervention in acute stroke he is also interested in sports and has been a state level sportsman.

Dr. Priya Agarwal is a consultant Neurologist and epileptologist at SDMH. She graduated from RNT Medical College, Udaipur. After completing her M.D. Medicine from S.P. Medical College, Bikaner, she pursued her super speciality (DNB) course in Neurology from the R & R, Army Hospital, Delhi.
Dr. Agarwal then pursued a post doctoral Fellowship in Epilepsy at AIIMS, Delhi, where she worked on several research projects. The key projects included a detailed classification of patients with epilepsy and studying multiple etiologic factors for epilepsy. She was also actively involved in the comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis of various sleep disorders.
She has published and presented several papers, including her work in Epilepsy, in national and international journals.
Dr. Agarwal oversees a specialist epilepsy clinic at SDMH for the holistic welfare of all patients with epilepsy. Special attention is paid to the accurate diagnostic semiology and hence appropriate management of these patients. All comorbidities of epilepsy, including neuropsychiatric, cognitive and sleep related issues are also addressed.
Those with refractory epilepsy are evaluated adequately including with a Video EEG, and Neuroimaging, as part of presurgical workup for epilepsy surgery.

Ms. Shubhanka Kala Msc. (Clinical Psychology) is a Neuropsychologist in the department of Santokba Durlabhji Institute of Neuroscience (SDIN) at SDMH. She completed her Psychological training with distinction at Tilonia (Ajmer); Mental Asylum (Jaipur) and Department of Psychiatry SDMH. She has been providing services in SDMH since 2013.
Ms. Kala has assisted psychologist and psychiatrist in SDMH and has also worked as an independent clinical psychologist at Mind and Soul Clinic. During this period she conducted various psychological test on children, adolescents, adults and elderly by providing assistance in overcoming their phobias, tensions, life stresses, dementia, depression, anxiety, addiction and various other psychological disorders. She has given cognitive problem solving skills training to students of “Umang” special school and gave practical training to student of Jayshree Periwal School Jaipur. Dr. Kala has special interest in Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology especially in field of past-life-regression therapy with a passion to work for specially challenged persons.
She has attended and participated in various National and International Conferences especially International Conference on “Clinical Psychology for Stress Free Living” in Sri Lanka. She actively participates in Public awareness programs and workshops including Mental Health Awareness Projects
